The breakfast buffet exceeded all my expectations in terms of variety and quality. From the delicious fruits to the mouthwatering crumble and cakes, everything was absolutely top-notch. The refreshing fresh juices and flavorful teas added the perfect finishing touch to the morning feast. The half board option also offered exceptional meals for dinner, allowing me to mingle with fellow guests and practice my French. The staff at this budget-friendly location were incredibly nice and helpful, and the rooms were spotlessly clean. The picturesque village and its authentic streets added charm to the overall experience. A small supermarket nearby provided convenience, and the surrounding area offered beautiful walks, particularly the breathtaking trail to Lac Noir. The vibes of the place and the amazing views from both the bar's balcony and the room were simply jaw-dropping. The whole experience felt like stepping into a Wes Anderson movie. To top it off, I was pleasantly surprised to have the room all to myself for the price of one person, offering exceptional value. Despite a small hiccup with the road closure, the hotel staff sorted out our accommodation even after midnight with just a single phone call, showing their awesome hospitality. La Grave itself is an awesome place, perfect for any kind of trip.

I had a fantastic stay at a charming mountain refuge in the Alps. The quirky 70's decor and friendly staff created a laidback and hippyish vibe that I really enjoyed. The views from the veranda were absolutely breathtaking. The dinners and breakfasts served were delicious, and it was great to see locals enjoying the bar as well. The clean and well-stocked apartment provided everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The live band and homemade pizzas added to the vibrant atmosphere. The location, just outside town and next to a big parking lot, was perfect. Despite a few minor cons, such as the dusty terrace and weak Wi-Fi in the apartment, I had an overall wonderful experience. I highly recommend Gite Le Rocher for a cheap and cheerful mountain getaway.
